Quail eggs are similar to chicken eggs but of course smaller and more delicate. So how long should you cook a quail egg? This recipe shows you how to get that perfect result every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 quail eggs
  • Water, as needed

Instructions

  1. Pour water into a small pan until it’s about 2/3 full.
  2. Bring the water to a boil.
  3. Add your quail eggs with a spoon.
  4. Don’t over-crowd the pan.
  5. Boil for 2 to 4 minutes, depending how ‘set’ you want the yolks.
  6. Cool under cold running water or submerge into ice water.
  7. Peel carefully and serve.

Fried Quail Eggs

  1. If you would prefer to fry them, forget the water.
  2. Break the eggs into a lightly oiled pan and cook for about 1 minute or until set.
  3. You’ll see when they’re done!
