How to Make Salsa in the Food Processor

Few dips are as famous or delicious as salsa, especially when you make it yourself. A food processor is your best friend when making something like this, and the process is quick and simple.

Ingredients
 

  • 28 oz (800g) can tomatoes in juice
  • 20 oz (560g) Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1/2 cup (25g) cilantro
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 thinly sliced jalapeno chili
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1/4 chopped yellow onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon white sugar
  • Juice from 1/2 a lime

Method
 

  1. Put all the ingredients in the food processor.
  2. Pulse until you have the texture you want.
  3. Chill for at least an hour before using, to let the flavors blend and soften.

Notes

You can choose the texture for this, smooth if you want it smooth or chunky for a more rustic finish. Just keep pulsing until the texture is right.
