Traditional Greek Salad Recipe

Also known as Salata Therini, this delicious Greek salad features plenty of fresh vegetables, as well as olives, lemon juice and more. This offers full flavor in every bite.

Ingredients
 

  • 4 handfuls salad leaves
  • 12 halved cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 diced cucumber
  • 1/2 sliced red onion
  • 4 oz (120g) crumbled feta cheese
  • 20 pitted black olives
  • Pinch of dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • Squeeze of lemon juice (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Method
 

  1. Divide the salad leaves between 4 serving bowls.
  2. Arrange the tomatoes, cucumber, onion, cheese and olives on top.
  3. Scatter the cheese over the top and sprinkle on some oregano.
  4. Shake the oil, vinegar, salt and pepper together (and lemon juice if using) and drizzle this over the salad.

Notes

  • If you prefer, you may serve the dressing on the side to let people serve themselves.
