Hummus Recipe No Tahini

This hummus recipe no tahini is such a breeze to prepare. Just combine the ingredients in a food processor. You can enjoy it as a dipping sauce or even as a spread in a pita wrap or sandwich. Homemade hummus without tahini is so delicious you won't miss the tahini whatsoever.

Ingredients
 

  • 15 oz (425g) can garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 peeled garlic clove
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Drain the garbanzo beans (chickpeas) and rinse them off.
  2. Give them a shake in the sieve to get rid of excess water.
  3. Add the drained beans, water, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, and ΒΌ teaspoon of salt to a food processor.
  4. Now process until smooth and creamy.
  5. If needed, you can add extra water to thin out the hummus and/or extra salt to taste.
  6. Store the hummus covered, in the refrigerator.
