What is Tahini Exactly Anyway?

Tahini is a sesame seed-based paste that’s well liked in the Middle East and Mediterranean regions. The kind you buy at the store is typically made with hulled sesame seeds but you can make your own either like this or with unhulled, sprouted sesame seeds.

And if you don’t want tahini in your hummus, no problem. With the right recipe you can simply leave it out.
