Quick Mackerel Pate Recipe: Homemade is Always Best

Buying pate from the shop is easy but homemade pate is always in a league of its own. In fact there is no comparison between the two. If you want to make a nice starter recipe for a dinner party then consider mackerel paté and you will be very tempted.

Soft cheese, spring onions and lemon work harmoniously with the mackerel and this quick mackerel pate recipe will have a good, firm texture as well as a pleasing flavor.

You can make this in literally 3 minutes (the same as this satay sauce!) but make it ahead so you have time to chill it. That way the flavors will all blend together.

So if you usually have chicken liver pate or another popular type, consider making this quick mackerel pate recipe next time, and you will be delighted just how easy it is, and how great the flavor of it is.

Do you consider making mackerel pate to be time-consuming? Actually most pate recipes are time-consuming so that is not necessarily such a strange thought.

This quick mackerel pate recipe differs however. Use smoked mackerel, combining it with green onions, cream cheese and a couple other ingredients and chill the pate until it is needed.

I like to chill this overnight because I find the flavors intensify and blend better than way, but a couple of hours should be sufficient. This is nice on crackers or you can serve it on Melba toast with cucumber slices if you want.
