The main ingredients are carrots, banana and onion, and the sauce is made with curry powder, orange juice and a splash of yogurt. Use fat-free yogurt and you can see how healthy and low in both fat and calories this banana and carrot curry recipe is.

Serve this banana and carrot curry with rice or naan bread or keep things healthy and have a chapatti bread with some raita (cucumber, yogurt and mint dressing) on the side. Healthy Banana and Carrot Curry

  • 2 carrots cut into 1 inch ( cm) lengths
  • 1 chopped tomato (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • fl oz (75ml) orange juice
  • 1 small sliced banana
  • 1 small sliced onion
  • fl oz (75ml) water
  • 1 oz (30ml) yogurt


  1. Boil the carrots and onion in the juice and water 10 minutes or until tender.
  2. Add the tomato and banana.
  3. Cook 1 minute.
  4. Add the curry powder and yogurt.
  5. Heat gently.
  6. This will serve 1 as a main dish or 2 if you are having other dishes.
