Ingredients

  • lbs (675g) cubed braising steak
  • 3 large, thinly sliced onions
  • 1 crushed clove garlic
  • 1 oz (30g) seasoned flour
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 10 fl oz (300ml) hot beef stock
  • 10 fl oz (300ml) light ale
  • 1 tablespoon wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon mixed dried herbs
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Combine everything in a microwave safe dish.
  2. Cover with a lid and microwave on ‘high’ for 10 minutes.
  3. Stir then microwave on ‘simmer’ for 90 minutes or until the meat is tender.
  4. Stir it every 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the bay leaves before serving.
